At present, after-sales service steps in when things go wrong. But with predictive maintenance, using connected sensors, the part is ordered before the machine breaks down. This makes it similar to a normal order, and so leaves time for planning.
Our facilities have seen numerous developments this year, with significant changes in the workshop: a low-voltage distribution board, a high-voltage cell, asbestos removal, a FARO measurement arm and a deburring booth. The site will also create an open space to seat 20 people and improve security with 10 cameras.
Held on 24 September, the first-ever family day attracted half the company’s employees. The 230 attendees were able to look around the workshops with the technicians – a great way to step inside your partner’s working environment! There will almost certainly be another family day, potentially in 2 years’ time.
Some 70,000 products were manufactured by PVI up to the end of August 2017. Onethird of these products were spare parts and 70% were new valves. The majority were ball valves from 25 to 32 mm, and butterfly valves from 150 to 400 mm.
Our valves are used in 80 countries. Currently, 70% of our exports go to Western Europe, but there are markets in the Middle East, mainly in petrochemicals, and in Asia, in the Korean shipyards, that also look promising for us.
